Technical local SEO makes useful pages reachable, readable and dependable. Start with the pages customers use to choose a service or location. An impressive audit score cannot compensate for an incorrect phone number or an unavailable booking route.
Check discovery and indexing controls
Confirm that important pages return a successful response, use the intended canonical, allow indexing and appear in a valid sitemap. List real page URLs in the sitemap, without fragments. A missing page should return an appropriate error rather than silently showing the homepage with a success response.
Use ordinary links and readable content
Navigation should use links with destinations. Important copy, headings and links should be available without requiring a click to construct the content. Search engines can render JavaScript, but server-rendered or static HTML reduces dependence on that extra step. Each distinct page needs its own title and purpose.
Test the mobile task
Open the page at a narrow width, use the keyboard and enlarge text. Check that contact links are easy to identify, forms have labels and error messages, and content does not overlap. Test the actual booking or enquiry process within an agreed test scope.
Measure speed honestly
Distinguish laboratory measurements from real-user field data. Core Web Vitals describe aspects of loading, responsiveness and visual stability. A single lab run is a diagnostic snapshot, not proof that every visitor has the same experience.
For an illustrative branch directory, a JavaScript-only filter that hides every branch when a script fails creates a discovery problem. Keep all branch links in the initial HTML and enhance them with filtering.
Review Search Console indexing, schema and the manual audit checklist together. Verify the deployed site after a release; a passing local build does not prove the production host serves it correctly.
